Research Strategist

Position Summary:Analyzes and reports on Nielsen television ratings data and market research statistics to support the programming, scheduling and marketing departments within TLC.Responsibilities:1.Provide support in formulating fact-based insights and recommendations on issues relating to business goals and strategies. 2.Perform interpretive analyses to transform data into valuable information. Communicate findings through written and stand-up presentations. 3.Manage all stages of primary research including design, fieldwork, analysis and interpretation of research studies including program tests, as well as other qualitative and quantitative studies. Design and manage special Nielsen analyses to explore opportunity areas for audience growth and understanding. Requirements: * Must have 3+ years of marketing research experience (with 2 years directly managing projects) at either a full service market research firm or major corporation. * Media experience a plus.* Experience with various quantitative and qualitative research methodologies required.* Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities and knowledge of basic statistics required.* Knowledge of Nielsen data and systems a plus.* Ability to work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail * Excellent communication skills both oral and written a must; strong project management skills are essential* Demonstrated ability to synthesize research findings to tell a story" with action-oriented implications is critical. * Candidate will also possess high level of maturity and professionalism and must demonstrate ability to function in a team environment * Computer proficiency mandatory including in-depth knowledge of spreadsheet and graphics packages (preferably Excel and PowerPoint)* Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
