Conduct cell-based assays with primary immune cells and cell lines in order to advance small molecule anti-inflammatory drug candidates.Actively participate in projects that investigate the basic science behind certain signaling pathways, and that are related less directly to the drug development process. Read the scientific literature in order to better understand the principles involved in ongoing experiments.Demonstrate a high level of initiative in performing experiments, particularly when problems are encountered which require troubleshooting.Conduct multiple experiments, some complex, in parallel. Quickly learn and accurately perform new procedures involving a range of technologies.Perform calculations and draw conclusions regarding progress and results of work. Quickly produce data documents in standard Excel and PowerPoint formats once the laboratory benchwork is concluded. Keep an accurate and up-to-date laboratory notebook.Spend time at work wisely by reading the scientific literature when not working in the laboratory in order to better understand the relevant science, and to potentially bring new and improved procedures to the laboratory.Demonstrate oral and written presentation skills. Help to co-author internal reports with supervisor, and to prepare papers for peer review journals.Basic QualificationsExperience preparing primary immune cells from human blood preferred. Cell culture experience a must.Experience in signal transduction and inflammation biology preferred.
