Research Associate I/II

Major Duties and Responsibilities (including supervising others):The candidate will be part of a team working to develop purification of MedImmune vaccine candidates and reagents from eukaryotic cell culture. The candidate will be responsible for being trained on and performing development experiments leading to an effective controlled and scalable purification processes. They will be responsible for supporting purification and reagent development for Research for preclinical studies development purification projects and support of the late stage process development as well as commercial product. The candidate is expected to make detailed observations analyze data interpret results with supervision and would be expected to prepare technical reports protocols and experimental summaries. The candidate should have a basic understanding and experience in separations technology.Requirements/Qualifications:Education: BS or MS in Biochemistry Chemistry Biochemical or Chemical Engineering Experience: BS with 0-5 years experience MS with 0-2 years experience Special Skills/Abilities: Excellent hands on laboratory techniques are essential. Experience and familiarity with liquid chromatography system filtration techniques quantitative protein and DNA analysis and gel electrophoresis are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Familiarity with writing Batch Production Records SOPs and other process documents. Familiarity with computer software including word processing data evaluation and software interface with process equipment.Job Complexity: The candidate is expected to make detailed observations analyze data interpret results with supervision and would be expected to prepare technical reports protocols and experimental summaries. Candidate can propose solutions for problems with routine procedures.Supervision: Reports to the Scientist and is expected to work with close supervision.
