EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Management degree or Masters degree in health care, gerontology, or business is desirable. Physical Therapist License in State of Illinois SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Indirectly supervises: Extended Care, Outpatient, Therapists, Assistants, Rehab Aides and Technicians. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to verbally communicate clearly and effectively. LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: SLP for the state in which the community is located. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. MON Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Maintain the Erickson Retirement Communities philosophy and Vision statement. 2. Interprets State and Federal regulations and implements policies and procedures to ensure departmental understanding and compliance in the areas of care provision, documentation, billing reimbursement, resident rights. 3. Responsible for monthly reports on the status of Rehab operations, including statistics, staffing, and budget variances with explanations. 4. Monitors the departments performance against budget and take appropriate action or makes the appropriate recommendations to ensure the departments overall compliance with the budget. Creates and executes effective staffing and scheduling patterns to achieve this objective. 5. Leads the Rehab departments Quality Improvement Program to potential problems and action plans. Implements outcome measurement tools to achieve high quality, cost effective patient care and compare to industry benchmarks. 6. Creates and implements interdisciplinary programs that focus on the wellness of residents and the prevention of negative incidents throughout the care continuum. 7. Evaluates, develops, and implements treatment that restore residents to their highest level of functioning by delivering consistent, caring rehabilitation services that promote residents rights in Renaissance Gardens, Outpatient Rehabilitation Department and Skilled Home Health. 8. Motivates staff while ensuring effective communication and teamwork within the department, as well as with peers and other constituents, including other Departments, Corporate and other Communities.
