RNOC Network Analyst

The Time Warner Cable Regional office currently seeks an RNOC Analyst for our Texas Regional Network Operations Center Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Essential Job Functions:
The RNOC Analysts of the Network Operations Center will provide proactive monitoring support to the divisions within the region. The team will proactively monitor the health of headend, hub, outside plant, customer premise devices, HSD network bandwidth, VOD service group utilization, return path SNR and ingress, Eventrack ticket queue, weather systems and 2-way device installations. The RNOC Analysts will interface with the TAC and division dispatch teams to resolve issues found. The team will utilize various network tools including ICOMS, iGlass, NSM, Unified, Nagios, NYROC, ECS Tool, and other tool suites. The correlation of data from multiple systems will assist the Network Analyst in making prudent decisions as to potential customer impact and problem severity. The RNOC Analyst will also use the network monitoring tools to ensure that problem repairs are reliable and complete by monitoring after the fix agent is done.

Job Requirements:
-Monitor network health, establish baseline trends and detect network health anomalies.
-Create, route, dispatch, resolve, QC, and close Eventrack tickets.
-Call out outage information to field personnel or Division staff, and receive outage resolution information called in from field or Division staff. Conduct conference call bridge for high severity events using Send Word Now as conference bridge notification.
-Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-No travel required.
-No Supervisory responsibilities with this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Previous monitoring role in Engineering or Technical Operations.
-Previous experience using Eventrack ticketing.
-Previous experience with division billing systems; ICOMs/CSG
-Previous experience with dispatch
-Working knowledge of Maintenance, Service, and Installation
-Understanding of HFC, CPE devices used in Cable.
-Understanding of HSD, Digital video, VOD, Switched, and Networking.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is: Regularly required to talk and hear; Frequently required to sit, stand and bend at the knee and waist and walk; Required to use hand to type, handle objects and paperwork; Required to reach and hold on to items at chest level or reach above the shoulder; Required to use close vision and be able to focus. Finally, the employee generally works in an indoor office environment; overtime maybe required.
