QA Lead - Oracle eBusiness

Location: Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, IL Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project, Employee Expected Duration: 5+ to 7 Years Pay Rate: 85,000.00 - 90,000.00 USD /yearplus bonus Reference Code: 1001141035 As a QA Testing Lead you will be required to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage multiple testing environments. You will communicate effectively with the business, project management and other IT teams including DBAs, Developers, Business Analysts, and Support. You will create Testing Dashboards to communicate project status and include metrics for continued process improvements. As a lead you will determine when to escalate open issues and ensure that sufficient documentation is available to solve technical problems. You will provide Test Summary documentation to communicate risk assessments and make a recommendation on the quality of the system. MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES  Develops quality assurance requirements and strategies that span the software development life cycle.  Develops and carries out quality assurance and test plans to ensure that requirements and quality objectives are met.  Evaluates and reports test results.  Develops, applies and maintains test suites and test systems for software products.  Develops and carries out methods and procedures for automated and manual application testing.  Develops and continually improves quality assurance methods and systems.  Defines requirements for test tools and testing environments.  Provides QA direction and advice for major projects and new development initiatives.  Participates in analysis, planning, and performance of QA activities to assure the quality of the application prior to release.  Coordinates testing and acts as liaison with offshore resources.  Create and update documents used to track multiple application environments.  Review current and future development and testing tasks and assist in sequencing/planning  Work with various associates to determine database and system requirements around development and testing.  Assemble patch documentation. Coordinate review and implementation. Assist in identifying areas that need to be tested.  Work with the Development group to ensure that release documentation is complete and available for review by the DBAs and Support Analysts.  Responsible for managing all development/testing instances including coordination of resources, backups, refreshes, restores, patching.  Communicate when outages are scheduled and when instances are available.  Track and manage status of each instances including the who, what, where, and when.  Responsible for coordinating and communicating the release of code in both the testing and production environments.QUALIFICATIONS Education:  Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent professional education/experience. Experience:  5+ years Application QA/development/deployment experience.  Experience in creating test cases, test harnesses, and/or scripts.  Experience in software testing (functional, integration, system, and/or automation).  Experience working with testing tools such as Mercury products (Quality Center, Test Director, LoadRunner, etc.).  Experience in developing test automation strategies and their implementations.  Extensive understanding of various standards of the software development life cycle and integration points of the testing life cycle.  Exposure to a forma project management methodology.  Experience with defect tracking tools.  Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.  Experience with Oracles ERP suite of applications. SysAdmin experience a plus.  Working knowledge of the software development life cycle.
