QA Engineer / Analyst - Contract to Hire Opportunity

We are currently assisting our Pittsburgh client in hiring a QA Engineer / Analyst for a contract to hire opportunity.  The primary function QA Engineers/Analyst is to ensure that the application under test has satisfied the needs of the business community.  This includes working with Business Users, Analysts and Developers to understand the application functionality, as well as executing manual test cases for limited-scope projects and documenting the results.

 

Responsibilities:

·  Verify that software and applications meet the business need by reviewing specification documents, executing tests and interfacing with business community where necessary

·  Execute manual test cases and document results for all testing phases (functional, integration, automated regression, and system testing)

·  Verify builds by executing Build Acceptance Tests)

·  File descriptive and accurate defect reports

·  Track the status of defects for the current project

·  Track the test execution status for the current project

·  Re-test defect fixes

·  Work with the QA Engineers to learn the Software Development and QA processes and methodologies

·  Accomplishes all of the above in accordance with standard procedures

·  Accomplishes other short-term objectives as assigned

 

Qualifications:

·  Experience with Manual, Automated (Mercury Suite), or Regression Testing will be required.

·  Experience with Microsoft Windows, Linux or other OS platforms

·  Experience working in .NET and Java Environments is desired

·  Effective in a fast paced environment

·  Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions

·  Collaborative/enjoys working in teams

·  Self starter/motivated

·  Creative and effective problem solving skills

·  Ability to work on/manage multiple tasks concurrently

·  Detail oriented, organized and thorough

·  Excellent customer service skills

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
