Project Engineer - fixed automated "anti-icing" system technology (FAST)

Due to our North American growth we are now looking for a Project Engineer for our office in New Castle, PA.

 

The PE will design fixed automated anti-icing system technology (FAST) for bridges and roadways, according to the required project specifications using standard Boschung technology, which includes spray disks, controllers, pavement sensors, environmental sensors, hydraulic pressure tubing accumulators, and pump stations.  Travel required 25%.

 

Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

 Design spray disk layouts on bridge structures and bridge approach areas of various projects, to ensure the most effective chemical distribution on the roadwayDesign the layout for placement of spray system valve units on the bridge, abutments, and approach areas of the structureDesign hydraulic conduit layouts for various anti-icing projects, to route the chemical to the valve unit locations on, and near the bridge structureConduct all correspondence with the customer regarding design, material supply, and recommended installation procedures for the systemEnsure that the design meets the required specifications for the projectPrepare Job Cost Summaries and pricing proposals for new inquiries

Interpret specifications and bid documents

Estimate materials and labor required

Assemble proposal consisting of manuals, engineering drawings, price & scope of work estimatesProject engineering – layout and initial design concepts

Determine best method (cost effectiveness) of installation for disk, sensors, conduit, and valve unitsEngineering assistance throughout the life of the project

Guiding CAD department through drawing process

Assisting purchasing in proper selection of necessary materials

Liaison with customer to ensure satisfaction is achievedInstallation supervision where required

 

Candidates should have:

 

Bachelors Degree in Science with 3-5 years experience.

Experience engineering projects valued between $300K – $2.5 million.

Experience with AutoCad

Excellent communication skills.  Proficient in MS Office.

 

Preferred Requirements:

 

Highway/road construction experience

Interface with Department of Transportation
