We currently offer more than 50,000 regularly-stocked products to our customer base through a sales force of over 1,500 professionals.  Headquartered in downtown Cleveland, OH, Barnes Distribution is a $537 million global company with operations in North America and Europe.   Currently, we have an exciting and challenging career opportunity available within our  Information Systems Department.  In the position of Programmer Analyst II,  you will be responsible for preparing project work-plans, programming specifications, and detail design documents for programming projects.  Additionally, you will be responsible for developing, organizing and executing system test plans and evaluating results. You will interact with user departments affected by the business systems and IS management. Qualifications:  Four year degree and three plus years of systems and programming experience, or two year degree in Data Processing and five plus years experience. Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems processing, especially for the distribution industry. (Knowledge of the American Software Inc (ASI) system, JDE or Manhatten WM is beneficial.) Knowledge of business processes and process flowcharting.  Understanding of AS/400 programming technologies including Websphere Dev Studio, PDM, DB2/400, SQL, and Query. Proficiency in Websphere development and the Java programming language, MS Visual Basic and .net preferred. Proficiency in the Cobol and RPG programming languages, AS/400 CL, and utilities including FastFax, Ezprint, and Implementor. Some exposure to Web development, including IBM Websphere, MQ Series, Java, Javascript, HTML and XML. Proficiency in PC tools including report writers, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and flowcharting tools.
