Program Mgr 2 (Query Analyst) Job Description:This position is for the world's largest software company, headquartered in Redmond, Washington. Job Number: 58405Description: Analyzes queries that are received by a search engine to determine methods to improve search engine results. This will include classifying queries into taxonomy and rewriting (altering) sample queries to improve them. Must apply exceedingly high analytical skills, strong drive, and high levels of creativity. This individual will need to work independently for stretches of time analyzing real queries, and devising/creating/hypothesizing methods to improve them, and then communicate/report findings to the larger group. Qualifications: Ability to determine what web-pages are relevant results for arbitrary queries received in the US (English speaking / United States) market across a broad spectrum of topics. Fluency in using a scripting language to process text files is required (PERL language preferred). Bachelors degree in computer science (or equivalent) required.Duration: 1 yearWe are interested in candidates local to the Pacific Northwest only.
