Program Manager - Database Marketing

The Program Manager will hold a critical role at Merkle, as he/she will manage overall project and resource planning and management for database system development and production for a major accounts.  The Program Manager will ensure acceptable project management practices and the proper change control of key project assets, i.e. requirements, product specifications, contracts, product code, documentation, etc. Successful candidates must be able to see the big picture AND be involved in the many details of the project.  He/she must be extremely comfortable working with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.  Motivating team members and communicating expectations to project members is crucial to project success. On a regular basis, the Program Manager:* Accepts full responsibility and accountability for project. * Creates and manages budget analysis and reports with regard to project. * Creates and manages project plan and responsibilities associated with plan: obtaining approvals, tracking, updating, reporting, etc. * Ensures definition of roles and responsibilities across all team members involved with project. * Develops resource plan and resource allocation. * Serves as channel for internal communication. * Takes responsibility for team performance. * Other duties as assigned. Employee Management Responsibilities: * Directly supervises 5 to 10 employees in the Database Services Group in direct relation to assigned project. * Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. * Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Requirements * Bachelors Degree  * 7-10 years overall IT experience. * Experience in Database Marketing. * A minimum of five years managing mid-size and complex software development projects (full lifecycle).  * Minimum two years in database development and production environment.  * Minimum two years of team leadership (at least 5 individuals).   * Proficient in Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, MS Project, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft SQL Server.   * Must be proficient at SQL in order to understand drive data-level analysis.  * Must understand database architecture and processing.  * Must have experience reviewing and approving requirements. To apply, click on the link below: https://www.hirebridge.com/application/appchoice.asp?jid=55746
