Product Manager - Men's Belts

Basic Function:

Responsible for coordination of the development of products with graphic artists, Senior Designer and Vice President-Design within the specific division.  Coordinating the product presentations, sending samples overseas, sourcing and cost analysis.  Maintains records and files for access by the merchandise department. Assists in the developing concepts on product and merchandising strategies by accessing the marketplace, price/value relationship, current trends and channel of distribution.

 

Job specifications:

Two to four years’ experience related to product planning and assortment, development, price point, design or marketing of manufactured consumer products, preferable in apparel accessories industry.  Technical knowledge as it relates to raw materials and finished goods manufacturing.  Possess ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision.  Is a team player with proven organizational, written and verbal communication. Possess ability to meet Time and Action Calendar time lines. Is proficient in Lotus Notes, Excel and Word.  Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, In Design and Adobe Photoshop.  Flexible schedule to work additional hours as needed.  Available to travel. 

 

Supervisory Dimensions:

No supervisory responsibilities.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES:

 (1)  Works closely with Graphics Team, Designer/Merchandise Manager and VP Design on product for Men’s belts.

(2)  Assists with product presentations, sending samples overseas, sourcing and cost analysis.

(3)  Maintains records and files for access by the merchandising department

(4)  Helps develop concepts on product and merchandising strategies.

(5)  Must know market place, price/value relationship, current trends and distribution channels.

(6)  Showroom(s) setup and maintenance as directed by VP Design. 

(7)  Maintain sample database and library

(8)  Maintain Swatch Cards and Raw Material Library

(9)  Ownership over any project given from start to finish.

(10)  Coordination of all sample invoices.

(11) Preparation of all linesheets for Markets, Trade Shows, Sales Meetings, Account Appointments or any other meeting needs as directed by VP Design.

(12) Perform any other miscellaneous tasks or projects as required by the Designer/Merchandise Manager or VP Design.
