IAC’s mission is to harness the power of interactivity to make daily life easier and more productive for people all over the world.  In addition to a number of well-known brands such as Ask.com, Evite and Match, IAC’s Programming group continues to incubate and develop new business opportunities.  Two such high-growth companies include 23/6 (www.236.com), a topical humor news site and VSL (www.veryshortlist.com).  We are currently seeking a high performance and entrepreneurial Online Sales Account Executive to help lead the revenue growth for these two properties.  A brief background on these ventures:  Launched in November 2007, 23/6, is a joint venture between IAC and Huffington Post.  It’s a comedic news site that filters the news, bringing readers the most important stories, the most interesting people, and the funniest details about world events – all with a unique, comic take.  Very Short List is a free daily email that recommends something to read, watch, or listen to that falls below the pop-culture radar.   Additional information about this exciting role:Position: Online Sales Account Executive Reports to: Advertising Sales DirectorLocation: NYC Description: The ideal candidate has a proven track record in online media sales at a prominent online publisher. We're looking for an energetic self-starter with a consultative sales approach who is pro-active in driving revenue and increasing the client base. The candidate possesses a proven ability to plan, develop, and implement online sales strategies, as well as a successful track record of meeting sales goals. You must be results-driven, have strong analytical skills and be committed to creating new advertising opportunities.  Responsibilities: Proactively prospect, qualify, grow, and maintain an account list while meeting annual revenue goals Help develop sales strategies, respond to RFPs and generate proposals that meet the objectives of both the advertiser and 23/6 or Very Short List Engage and strategize with agencies and clients to determine their business needs and formulate ad sales programs Establish and cultivate strong relationships by conducting face to face sales calls and client entertainment Proactively communicate account forecasts and sales information to sales management Act as primary liaison between Sales Director, Operations, Accounting and Client Assume campaign ownership to ensure full delivery and proper pacing of advertising campaign Bachelor’s degree with 2-5 years digital or traditional media sales experience Sharp, detail-oriented, thorough and assertive Show a high degree of self-motivation and work well both as an individual and within a team environment Proven track record of success driving revenue through the development of long-term strategic relationships Excellent communication, analytical, time management and presentation skills Customer focused with a demonstrated track record of developing successful account relationships High-energy individual who thrives in a start-up environment Experience working on entertainment account and/or selling email newsletters a plus
