Office Administrator opportunity working for a religious organization in DT Portland
Temporary to Hire opportunity working for a religious organization in DT Portland. Position pays $15-$16 per hour DOE. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 with occasional needs to stay for a meeting. Manage and assist the Senior Minister in fulfilling the mission of the church by overseeing the church office and it's administration.College degree preferred in business, or equivalent experience. Complete Computer competency. Must have understanding of general business law in Oregon. Must be able to keep confidentialities. Ability to be self directed and make independent decisions. Possess problem solving and decision making skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Must be a team player. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Ability to work with all kinds of people and personalities, good telephone skills and ability to listen.Office Administration Duties: 1. Recruit, train and supervise office volunteers. 2. Oversee coffee hour / security personnel, and outside contractors. 3. Act as a liaison for church members and church groups. 4. Maintain church calendar and schedule use of spaces. 5. Assist church members, volunteers, and street people. 6. Answer phones and door. 7. Collect mail -- sort and open appropriately and distribute. 8. Order office supplies. 9. Maintain church records, members, births, deaths, baptisms, wedding, archives of meetings. 10. Assist in planning, implementing, and promoting programs and events as appropriate. 11. Evaluate FCC programs and events and recommend changes. 12. Accounts Receivable.Wedding Coordinator Duties: 1. Provide assistance to Assistant Minister in regards to any wedding couple needs. 2. Collect payments and maintenance of wedding records.Secondary Job Functions: 1. Perform duties and special projects as assigned by the Supervisor. 2. Project professional image consistent with that of the church.Working Conditions: 1. Physical Requirements: Fingering, handling, hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, talking, and walking, keyboard typing, 10 key adding machines, able to lift 25 lbs, able to access all parts of the buildings. 2. Mental Demands: Alertness, concentration, initiative, judgment, memory, patience, precision, problem solving, reasoning, and speaking ability. 3.
