This is leadership position that demands extensive experience in the Information Technology Industry specific to Enterprise Portal design, Java / J2EE Solution Design and Architecture, configuration and deployment. The candidate is expected to have excellent interpersonal delivery skills and is expected to guide the business and clients through understanding the technology, which will add value to their business. It is also expected that the candidate liaison between the technical groups and the client groups to deliver value across projects and outside typical boundaries. The position will lead a team of architects, designers, developers, and support personnel. The candidate will help to define process improvements for the group and will be committed to standardizing how we work with clients, and amongst ourselves to deliver extremely high value to Wyeth. Job ResponsibilitiesLeads, coaches and mentors less experienced architects and implementation team membersProvide technical direction and leadership to design and implement corporate portal in a complex enterprise environment with architecture and roadmap leading to a web centric work placeCollaborate with business and technology leaders from client, cross – IS members and within the SAP COE to identify key business requirements to enable enterprise portal strategyResponsible for the architecture, design and implementation of portal taxonomy, user experiences, applications and content integration, as well as the availability, scalability, performance and security of the portal infrastructureManages, guides, consult on multiple projects of various size groups or exempt staff of critical functions. Conduct project planning and work estimates with the engagement manager and/or project managersDevelops higher-level plans for units and provides significant input on long-term IT strategy. Works with managers and senior individual contributors to develop objectives.Leads and conduct prototyping and proof of concept activities and to establish reusable templates and solution components to pave the foundation for complex implementationBasic QualificationsBachelors degree in a technical field desired or applicable experience.Although not required, Netweaver training in the portal or KM (knowledge management) is advantageous, as well as training in design and architecture. Incumbents with Java development background and training experience also advantageous.If the incumbent gathers these skillsets through working experience, that would be preferred. Typically, 12 years of variable experience with the skillsets listed is desired:Experience and skill in architecture, design and development across an enterprise portal platform required. Experience and skill in project management required. High energy, creative, multi-tasking, and get-the-job-done attitude required. Strong persuasion, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written) required.Proven leadership experience in leading people and teams to successful project delivery required.Familiarity with SAP’s technology and solutions required. Must be able to work with multiple projects, with multiple timelines, utilizing COE modelExcellent communication and presentation skills required.
