Job DescriptionDeploy and administer the hardware & software comprising the Charles River campus network, including servers (DNS, DHCP & other administrative facilities), switches (gateways, routers, & concentrators), and transport systems (optical and electrical media, cross connect systems, & information outlets). Help ensure the utility, reliability, and consistency of the network. Provide needs analysis and recommendations regarding new and upgraded facilities and services. Monitor network performance & security and configure appropriately. Analyze & address problems with above systems as they occur.Required SkillsRequires: B.A./B.S. in engineering, computer science, or equivalent. Experience with the Internet, TCP/IP, Ethernet, DNS, and DHCP; familiarity with Cisco and 3COM equipment. Five years experience with packet networks and router technology, and seven or more years of Unix and Linux system administration,programming in C++ and PERL, and some SQL knowledge helpful; good communication and interpersonal skills required.SalaryGrade 56 -
