Merchant - E-Commerce

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for achieving sales, gross margin, and profit goals of the White House|Black Market E-commerce business through the selection, positioning and promotion of merchandise on the website, and by utilizing appropriate online merchandising tools. Develops and implements a strategy and appropriate reaction to sales trends in order to maximize business. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Fiscally responsible for the whbm.com business Be the face of the WH|BM brand to the web team and vice versa Build processes that assure effective communication between the Brand and the web; help build processes that aid operational excellence Manage the buying process from end to end Strategically plan inventory to capitalize on web homepage and email placements Initiate Homepage and E-Mail campaign content in conjunction with Brand direction, E-commerce goals and inventory investments Build and manage the OTB budget Key player in the annual and monthly budget process Prepare and present weekly, monthly, seasonal selling reports and analysis i.e. Monday Business Review, Monthly MBR, Seasonal Hindsight Develop opportunities for web-specific products, size extensions, offers that enhance the Brand and the E-commerce business Create strong partnerships among cross-functional areas including E-commerce Planning, Marketing, the Call Center and the DC in Winder, as well as Front-line Merchandising and Planning and Design QUALIFICATIONS: 3-5 years of experience as a Merchant for a progressive national specialty apparel retailer BA/BS degree in related field from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of experience and education Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication Excellent analytical skills Excellent planning and organizational skills Ability to run and manage the open to buy Ability to work with and interpret numbers and have a thorough knowledge of inventory/open to buy Superior negotiation skills Strong presentation skills xchicox #cb# NOTICE: Chico's FAS, Inc. and its affiliates (Chico's) do not accept unsolicited candidate referrals or resumes from recruitment agencies.
