Merchadise Planner, E Commerce

The E-Commerce Merchandise Planner for White House I Black Market is responsible for the development of annual plans utilizing current sales and trend information. This position translates management's merchandising vision into viable plans and profitable results. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Partners with the Planning Manager and Merchant on the development of pre-season sales, markdown, margin, receipt and inventory OTB plans. Analyzes and reflects current trends in performance based on actual sales performance; revises in-season plans for sales and profitability; controls inventory levels. Partners with Planning Manager to develop and propose tactics in response to current business trends. Conducts reviews with the Allocation team to ensure inventory levels meet current trends. Partners and communicates with Retail Planners/Merchants, Distribution Center and Contact Center. Develops monthly plans for key items and major programs to ensure adequate in-stock levels to maximize sales. Develops sales and inventory plans for promotional events. Makes recommendations for key financial meetings/decisions in order to maximize sales, margin and inventory productivity. Makes recommendations for promotional event options and provide analysis of impact. Manages receipts and provides recommendations for adjustment of inventory flow. Manages and executes liquidation strategy for aged and broken inventory in the DC. Provides other analysis related to driving business goals such as Weekly/Monthly Business Reviews, Hindsights, etc. Partners and communicates with Retail Planners/Merchants, Distribution Center and Contact Center. Exhibits initiative to look beyond the everyday business to look for opportunities to maximize sales potential and multi-task in a fast paced environment. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required; finance or business related field preferred with strong quantitative background. 3-5 years of experience in: merchandise planning, demand forecasting; inventory management, allocation or replenishment; financial planning or financial analysis experience. Working knowledge of operations functions relating to E-commerce. Strong communication and presentation skills: concisely presents complex information/recommendations in terms meaningful to various audiences. Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills. Ability to work in a fast paced and growing environment. Thorough knowledge of Excel, database and SAP experience a plus.
