Job Description:CV Therapeutics seeks to hire Field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) who facilitates field-based scientific exchange with external thought leaders through the support of other CVT clinical functions. MSLs work includes: scientific information & publications; scientific education; and clinical communications. The MSL is a person who can communicate high scientific concepts, capture feedback and deliver it to key internal functions and balance clinical objectives with business opportunities. They answer questions real time in their day to day interactions with key opinion leaders and clinicians in general. MSLs represent the scientific face of the company to the clinical community. They serve as a link between CVT and the medical community, managed care accounts, hospitals, and healthcare professionals. Medical Science Liaisons function as a field based arm of Medical Affairs reporting into the Professional Services group and are instrumental in presenting product-related clinical information for both internal and external customers. Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:(A) Essential functional duties of the position• Demonstrates the ability to present approved scientific data of varying levels of complexity to healthcare professionals in both group and one-to-one settings. • Develops effective partnerships with a broad network of thought leaders in the therapeutic area. Utilizes therapeutic expertise in contacts with Opinion Leader/External Experts, in accordance with the strategy developed by CVT to further understand and gain insight into (1) treatment patterns (2) the scientific activities taking place within the Disease Area, (3) the needs and interests of Healthcare providers, and (4) the medical needs of patients. • Works collaboratively with other internal CVT teams and coordinates field-based activities related to KOLs.• Demonstrates appropriate response and documents the provision of accurate, approved scientific data in response to unsolicited scientific questions or requests posed by healthcare professionals for approved products and for products in development.• Deliver formulary presentations for P&T or P&T related reviews at hospitals, managed care organizations, and medical group practices. • Attend conventions and symposia to gather scientific and marketing intelligence and present and or facilitate the presentation of clinical information.(B) Other responsibilities/accountabilities (marginal functions)• Leverages CVT interactions (eg executive, MD, marketing) with KOLs and clinical support at key institutions.• Supports MICs with appropriate KOL support at select MCOs and works with MICs to support requests at key regional MCOs• Presents field-identified educational opportunities for approval • Suggests appropriate faculty for CVT activities• Provides support for CVT Clinical Trials through the identification of potential new investigators and specific site-support activities relating to the conduct of a CVT initiated clinical trial (e.g. education, recruitment support). • Assist in sales training as necessary and appropriate.• Assist in literature tracking on company products as well as other products of interest• Maintain up-to-date information on cardiovascular disease and its treatment.Relevant Quantitative Dimensions (e.g., budget, supervisory responsibilities):• Regular reporting on customer interactions, documentation of clinical inquiries, scheduling, and nature of activities.

Job Experience:Knowledge/Skill Requirements:• Business insight; handling, interpreting and applying knowledge; focus on the patient; relationship management; scientific and ethical rigor; and technical expertise are critical skills.• Post graduate degree is highly desirable with a degree in a health care discipline highly preferred (PharmD, MD, or PhD).• At least one 3-5 years clinical experience in an industry, managed care, or hospital setting (Medical Science Liaison or related experience a plus).• Direct experience in fostering relationships with top opinion leaders in the field and communicating scientific and/or clinical data to Healthcare professionals.• Strong clinical skills. Ability to respond to requests for clinical presentations and provide targeted medical information with strong communication skills. Clinical experience in cardiovascular disease preferred, but not required• Thorough understanding of the legal/regulatory requirements and guidelines with regard to medical information in the pharmaceutical industry • Excellent verbal and inter-personal communication and presentation skills• Successful experience working in a field-based organization and providing support to other functional groups or departments preferred• Excellent project management skills, written documentation, and computer expertise essential.Other Overall focus and priorities for this group will be clear, they will include an overall goal of long-term relationships, yet the areas of work focus (i.e education, presentations, research, etc) must change with CVT’s current corporate goals and strategies. Provides medical information support for complex projects as a multifunctional team member.This position is highly interactive requiring communications support for numerous departments including Sales, Marketing, and Medical Affairs. 60-80% Travel (customer meetings and scientific meetings, including booth support)Valid drivers license and good driving record required and must be maintained during employmentProvide cross coverage for all CVT products.Minimum Education Required: DoctoralYears of Experience Required: 3-5 Years
