Media Relations Specialist
Business Wire is seeking a Media Relations Specialist for our New York office. This position requires a person who can handle a variety of challenging duties, including: establish and maintain relationships with the media within New York, New Jersey and Connecticut; increase number of media points within this territory; update media database; involvement with journalist organizations; plan media seminars working closely with sales.
Job Requirements: Ideal candidate will be a proactive, tech savvy, assertive team player who can juggle a variety of assignments within a fast-paced environment. Previous media relations, public relations, event planning and marketing experience a plus. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Candidates must have a professional phone manner, familiarity with basic software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or similar database management), online/internet knowledge and must be willing to travel within this territory.
