Math Teacher

Abraxas Youth & Family Services, a leader in the juvenile justice field, has an immediate opening for a Math Teacher at our Erie, PA location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

-Plans a program of study that meets the clients individualized needs, interests, and abilities.

-Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the clients maturity and interest.

-Assists in the on-going development of the school curriculum and processes toward the achievement of curriculum goals.

-Prepares course objectives and outlines course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of the State and school district.

-Assesses the accomplishments of clients on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.

-Participates as an educational team member in relationship towards the clients, staff, and school.

-Manages an educational caseload by supporting the educational plan, setting short-term goals, and summarizing achievements in reports for assigned clients.

-Assigns lessons and corrects homework.

-Administers tests to evaluate client progression, records results, and issues reports to inform parents/guardians of educational progress.

Requirements


Must have a PA teaching certification in the related subject area.

Must be at least 21 years of age, criminal clearances (33/34), and a valid driver's license. Pre-employment drug screening required.
