Material Damage Claims Field Appraiser
Job Description:The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Auto Appraiser to cover the MetroWest territory.This position will be based out of the home and responsible for writing accurate appraisals and negotiating cost effective repair figures on repairable and total loss vehicles. This individual must analyze damage, evaluate the practicality of repair vs. repayment of ACV, document files appropriately, obtain agreed figures with repair facilities, contact owners, obtain agreed acv's, issue indemnity payments when appropriate and meet production standards. A Company car is provided. Requirements: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to deal with conflict and resolve issues promptly and fairly is key. Possess good written and oral communication skills, analytical ability and technical background. Working knowledge of CCC Automated Appraisal (Pathways) preferred along with Windows proficiency, Excel and Word. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, High School/GED required. 5 or more years of related appraisal experience preferably with an insurance company. A valid Mass State driver's license and a clear MVR are necessary for employment.
