Yoh has an opening for a Marketing Media Communications Manager in Palo Alto, CA.  This position is a long term contract with Business Objects/SAP. SAP was founded in 1972 and is today one of the world's largest independent business software providers and one of the three largest independent software companies based on market capitalization.Description: Serves as a key member of the West Coast media relations team focused on building and fostering close relationships with local business, trade and vertical media.  Responsibilities: • Drives strategic public relations for the Business Objects solution area and supports aggressive go-to-market campaigns. • Oversees media activities for leading SAP executive board member • Consults with all facets of global communications, global business units, senior management and global marketing in order to develop and promote solution messages to external media.  • Plays a role in managing the work of personnel in the global public relations agency and acts as a spokesperson to the media, particularly with vertical and industry press. • Establish positive relations between the company and its various publics through creative use of the news media, speaking engagements for company executives, issues management, and other public relations vehicles. • Generate opportunities to promote a positive image of the company producing a climate in which the company can operate most effectively.  Qualifications: • Minimum of 6-8 years public relations experience for high profile company. • Agency experience, high tech industry exposure and global experience a plus. • Experience developing news media contacts. • Strong interviewing and information gathering skills. • Ability to evaluate an event or news item for its impact on the industry or the company specifically. • Bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications or related discipline that develops strong research, analytical and writing skills.Discover all that’s possible with Yoh.
