Manager, Test Engineering
Job Summary:
Â
Manage Test Engineering, Operations to develop test systems including HW and SW solutions for Cognex products in various manufacturing locations both domestic and international. Design systems to be robust, user friendly, and capable of supporting active, data driven quality management .   Establish and execute plans to continuously improve test engineering effectiveness and infrastructure.

Essential Functions:
Â
1)Â Â Â Â Â Â Lead Test Engineering to provide continuing and timely support for series production in multiple Cognex locations
2)Â Â Â Â Â Â Lead Test Engineering to develop, enhance and maintain test systems and applications to result in productive, efficient, effective series production
3)Â Â Â Â Â Â Establish and execute short and long term strategies to create a multi-location test infrastructure in harmony with the objectives of Operations Senior Management.
4)Â Â Â Â Â Â Manage test engineering resources at the beginning of new product developments to establish test plans, test fixtures, schedules and program design.
5)Â Â Â Â Â Â Build product knowledge as it relates to test development
6)      Take the lead on specific assigned tasks for test engineering to insure proper integration of the project elements including technology, cost, timing.
7)Â Â Â Â Â Â Manage Test Engineering platforms into the next generation
8)Â Â Â Â Â Â Ensure documentation of test programs that support users and minimize downtime.
9)Â Â Â Â Â Â Coordinate training to users to promote efficiency and minimize downtime

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Â
1)Â Â Â Â Â Â Ability to manage test engineers and technicians with varying levels of technical skill and experience.
2)      Test Engineering management skills based on a comprehensive knowledge of test systems used to measure products to quality standards in a series production environment
3)      Knowledge of test systems such as  ICT (in-circuit test), product functional tests, and miscellaneous tests for products and accessories as they apply to vision systems.
4)Â Â Â Â Â Â Knowledge of available equipment and tools necessary to develop test systems
5)Â Â Â Â Â Â Sufficient knowledge to ensure proper integration of HW and SW in test systems
6)Â Â Â Â Â Â Ability to work in a team environment

Minimum education and work experience required:
 Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline required. Master’s degree preferred.8 years of experience in production electronic test development 3 years of management experience
