Mainframe Tester with Healthcare

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Plans, creates and executes test scenarios and test scripts that ensure the system modification will meet the specified business requirement. Completes test strategies and obtain approval from project managers, programmers, designers, and System Analyst . Defines data requirements to support all phases of testing. This includes constructing input files to support functional testing as well as coordinating data across multiple applications to perform integrated testing. . Participates as a member of the project team to ensure requirements, technical specifications and design are understood and are testable. Attend project meetings as requested by the Functional Test Lead or ASG QA Lead ensuring test approach is defined to support all types of testing including unit, string, functional, integrated and regression. . Builds test scripts in Test Director per established standards and maintain daily status. Uses Defect Tracker to report all defects, defect status and closure information; ensures data is correctly reported in Defect Tracker when defect is resolved or closed. Ensures test scenarios and scripts are stored in Test Director, status is updated upon execution and reported correctly. Works with Win Runner technical support to automate scripts as needed. Support for other levels of testing ( PVS, ORT, etc ). Supports release implementation by completing all required documentation, coordinating with Production to complete knowledge transfer, performing release check-out as required, and supporting any Production issue during warranty period. Updates regression scripts as necessary for functionality changes on projectsSKILLS:. Detailed knowledge of the different types of testing including (functional, integration, and regression). Testing knowledge that integrates theoretical test methods balanced with real world practical experience.. Strong Healthcare experience, specifically related to claims processing.. Mainframe experience required, including TSO/ISPF. Experience with DB2, SQL and QMF. . Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and System Applications that use XML. . Experience with testing tools desired (Test Director, Win runner or equivalent).. Technical ability and understanding of technical design documents.. Experience coordinating data across multiple platforms and/or applications to support integrated testing is a plus.EDUCATION:Experience:5 years experience in Software Testing or equivalent role in Software Development Lifecycle. At least 2 years experience in testing Mainframe Systems.
