Job Requirements:
A minimum of 4 years of experience as a machinist in the process industry or support industries. Demonstrated ability to machine various types of process rotating and non-rotating components such as shafts, sleeves, oil seals, wear rings, valve stems, bushings, etc. Demonstrated ability to true-up fits and tolerances to meet OEM and in-house specifications in support of maintenance and repair activities using manual (non-CNC) machine tools. The applicant must possess a strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of process plant equipment. The applicant must be able to read drawings and sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. The successful applicant will have good communication and interpersonal skills. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist in the process industry or support industries. Three or more years of mechanic experience performing rotating equipment maintenance and repairs involving disassembly, troubleshooting, repair and reassembly both in the field and in the shop. Demonstrated experience in assembling rotating equipment components with a strong knowledge of shaft fits and tolerances, bearings, mechanical seals, shaft and bearing alignment, rotating assembly balance, gear boxes and motors.High school education2 year degree in a technical school or equivalent educational background is preferred.
