Logistics Specialist

The Logistics Specialist: - Conducts property and material management for all NGA Property Accountability Systems.- Requisitions, receives, stores, issues, transfers and accounts for all property, equipment, and maintains NGA hand receipts and all sub-hand receipts.- Provide assistance, instruction, and guidance to the Hand Receipt Holders (HRH), supervisors, and sub-hand receipt holders of policy, procedures, and regulations.- Ensure that all Hand Receipts (HR) are updated and maintained in accordance with NGA Regulations.- Prepares procedures for and conducts periodic physical inventories.- Conducts investigations to determine cause of inventory discrepancies and, if required, prepares Lost, Damaged and Destroyed (LDD) for Report of Survey.- Ensures that hand receipt files are kept current and includes all NGA Property Accountability Systems supporting documents.- Ensure that all hand receipt accounts are accurately maintained in the NGA Property Accountability Systems.- Conduct inventories using manual, automated and NGA accounting systems.- Ensure that hand receipt files are created for each hand receipt holder.- Ensure that each hand receipt file includes signed account listings, transfer forms, turn-in forms, load sheets, reports of survey, and all necessary documentation to support changes in inventory records.- Perform monthly, semi annual, annual, 3-year cycle inventories providing a schedule in accordance with the Governmental property regulations.- Learn Property Custodians duties on governmental property regulations, bar-coding equipment, and NGA Property Accountability Systems.- Enter property information in NGA Property Accountability Systems. - Performs and validate inventories as necessary to meet department goals and deadlines.- Provides training on NGA Property Regulations to Government and Contractor Hand Receipt Holders (HRH), Assistant HRHs, and sub-HRHs.- Answers questions and provides guidance to HRHs.- Work with customers to resolve property accountability issues such as missing equipment.- Prepare written correspondence for VT Griffin and Government personnel regarding property accountability issues.- Operate and maintain forklift and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE).- Hazardous material certified.- Maintain and Operate 5 ton and below vehicle by performing Preventive Maintenance checks and Services (PMCS). Position Requirements High School diploma, additional education preferred. Experience may be a substitute for educational requirements. Excellent written and oral communication skill. Must have 2 years property accountability experience in a government environment- Knowledge of NGA Property Accountability Systems.- Must have a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. - Valid state driver's license, valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.- Must be able to bend, reach, twist, stretch, and crouch.- Must be able to lift 50lbs. multiple times per day.Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
