Learning & Development Specialist-Grant Svc Ctr
Job Description:POSITION PURPOSE An intermediate-level professional, the Learning & Development Specialist Trainer is a fully competent, individual producer who applies a broad knowledge of training concepts, practices and procedures; facilitates training. Incumbents are competent to work on efforts of moderate complexity, deliver training and perform a range of analytical and/or high level administrative activities. The incumbent generally works under deadlines and may handle heavy workloads, operating with only general supervision. Provides functional and project leadership to less experienced staff on an as needed basis. REPRESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* -Provides delivery of training and facilitation to client personnel as assigned. -Provides certification support to client as required. -Provides professional and high level administrative support during the development and delivery of training programs for skills, technical, management and staff development training. -Provides input to newly developed and pre-existing training materials to ensure business unit or group training needs are met. Provides input to training methodology and recommends revisions/additions as required. -Provides assistance to more senior staff in the evaluation and determination of business unit or group training needs. May interface with management to ascertain and document training needs. - Provides oversight and coordination to ensure the timely and accurate production of applicable training materials. - Works with vendors and other third party sources if required to coordinate technical or professional training offerings. -Compiles data and provides reports. -Provides guidance to and assists in the training of less experienced staff as required. Education and Typical Years of Experience: Associate’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience. -Ability to apply policy and procedure related to Indiana eligibility for public assistance programs. -Minimum of 1 years ICES experience during the last 2 years. -Work experience in an Indiana public assistance office. - Minimum of 1-3 years training or related industry experience. - Strong organizational skills. - Requires up to 25% travel. - Demonstrated commitment to providing customer-focused, quality training. - Maturity of judgment under pressure/ability to resolve/mediate problems. - Requires tact and strong verbal communication skills to secure/facilitate appropriate action and/or to negotiate optimal terms and conditions. - Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements dictated by professional training services environment. - Commitment to quality and personal ethics. - Experience in a State or other Government environment preferred.Job Experience:POSITION PURPOSE An intermediate-level professional, the Learning & Development Specialist Trainer is a fully competent, individual producer who applies a broad knowledge of training concepts, practices and procedures; facilitates training.
