Lead Tech-Des Moines

Summary of Job:

Provides work direction to site technicians.  Manages the equipment maintenance process for assigned site.  Provides technical operational equipment support for assigned site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Provides work direction to site technicians

· Determines and distributes work schedules for site technicians

· Provides feedback to the Operations Manager regarding technicians performance

· Schedules, distributes, conducts and evaluates equipment preventative maintenance in accordance with MPTQM standards.

· Maintains all appropriate technical documentation for site equipment.  Maintains all appropriate software directories/upgrades for site

· Conducts on-going training and recommends vendor training for site technicians

· Monitors and maintains site spare parts and supply inventory according to 7I guidelines

· Provides assistance with equipment moves and upgrades

· Escalates equipment emergencies promptly to appropriate internal and/or external contacts.  Advises management of all serious equipment issues.

· Communicates with vendors as needed and maintains regular and positive communication with appropriate USPS representatives

· Performs MASS/CASS and FASTfoward testing/retesting

· Provides phone support, emergency on-site support and on-call availability as needed

· Carries a company-provided cell phone at all times

· Other duties as assigned

Experience/Education/Training Requirements:

· Successful completion of electronics coursework, usually provided in a program at a trade school or community college, or progressively more responsible experience working on equipment. (AA degree preferred)
