Java Web Programmer

The primary purpose of the Java Programmer is to develop, upgrade and maintain business applications and websites using Java technology with a specific focus on all company and customer web sites.  The Java Programmer will work closely with internal design teams and our Business Development Group to develop web sites and new applications to answer ever changing business needs.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

1.   2-5 years developing Websites and Applications using J2EE.

 

2.  College education desired (4-year degree preferred but not required).

 

3.  Must be very familiar with Java, JSP and Servlets.

 

4.  HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc. required.

 

5.  Must be familiar with MVC and other Frameworks/Methodologies.

 

6.  Must be able to install and maintain a MySQL database on a UNIX system.

 

7.  Must be able to install and maintain a Webserver i.e. JBoss or Tomcat on a UNIX system.

 

8.  Must be able to work in a UNIX and Windows environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.  Develop complete Websites/Applications from ground up with minimal guidance direction based on corporation and or client direction and instruction.

 

2.  Install and maintain MySQL database on UNIX system.

 

3.  Install and maintain a Webserver (JBoss or Tomcat) on a UNIX system

 

4.  Assist in the administration of the network and server hosting environment.

 

5.  Develop and implement the shopping cart and database interactions.

 

6.  Build the back end of the site including but not limited to, content management system, database interactions, eCommerce systems.

 

7.  Delivers project assignments on time, within budget and with high quality.

 

8.  Provide expertise and support to the development teams.

 

9.  Perform other duties as defined by the Manager of Creative Services, Director of Business Development or Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
