Inventory Accountant

Job Category:  Accounting/Finance/Insurance Reference Code:  US_EN_1_177545_7621541 Location:  Carson, CA 90746 Job Status:  Full Time, Employee Job Description:Our client, a leader in the manufacturing and distribution industry located in South Bay is looking for an Inventory Accountant with a go-getter attitude to manage the following:• Reporting to a Plant Controller the incumbent will be responsible for:• Analyzing and reporting inventory levels by various business areas and product categories• Analyzing and reporting cost of sales and gross margin levels of various business units and product categories• Calculating and reporting inventory reserve requirements on a quarterly basis• Serving as a key member of the Physical Inventory Team responsible for organizing, performing and reconciling annual and interim physical inventories, including the posting of adjustments using SAP count sheets• Preparing various closing journal entries as assigned and uploading journal entries in an SAP environment• Analyzing various general ledger accounts as assigned• Preparing schedules and assisting in the collection of documentation related to inventory cutoff testing, price testing, etc. for various audits throughout the year• Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets• Assisting in the preparation of quarterly forecasts• Performing other related duties as assigned by the Plant Controller and the Director of Accounting and FinanceExperience/Skills/Abilities• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required• 2+ years of Inventory Accounting experience in a distribution/manufacturing company• Advanced Excel proficiency• SAP experience required; Hyperion a plus• Ability to function independently and meet strict recurring deadlines• Strong analytical skills• Strong problem solving skills and ability to effectively resolve issues with limited information• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingAre you looking for a casual, friendly work environment and a great benefits package?
