Intergraph - Piping (6118)

Job Description:Nature and Scope of Position: Intergraph - Piping / Intergraph Designer Under minimal supervision, provide advanced design and drafting support generating piping and support system design with documentation for the National Ignition Facility (NIF) Project utilities. Interactions will be with engineers, scientists, and designers/drafters to determine requirements, develop designs, and to complete designs.Essential Duties- Understanding and ability to apply sound technical approaches to designing or improving utility piping systems. Must have general knowledge of related disciplines.- Analyze and interpret design requirements, schedule, and cost.- Generate basic piping layouts, detail drawings, construction drawings, installation drawings, and design calculations as necessary. Design documentation is to be created in Intergraph PDS 3D software.- Review and check drawings.- Maintain documentation in a configuration management system.- Provide technical advice and solutions in a team environment.- Participate in design reviews.Marginal Duties- Provide regular progress reporting to task lead reflecting manpower needs, schedule, job scope, and work assignment.Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities- 4,000 hours or two years minimum piping layout experience using Intergraph PDS 3D software.- A.A. degree in a related engineering discipline and/or equivalent experience in the utility piping field. - Experience developing facility support and utility piping designs.Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities- Knowledge of project, schedule, and manpower planning.- Experience designing piping systems for clean-room compatibility.Job Experience:Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities- 4,000 hours or two years minimum piping layout experience using Intergraph PDS 3D software.- A.A. degree in a related engineering discipline and/or equivalent experience in the utility piping field. - Experience developing facility support and utility piping designs.
