Information Systems Project Manager

The Information Systems Project Manager will coordinate all aspects of the Information System department. 



Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned:

 

Ø  Manage activities of employees in the department

Ø  Assist in planning and controlling departmental budget

Ø  Process payroll for the department

Ø  Enforce disciplinary action on staff with respect to company policies, procedures and productivity deficiencies

Ø  Monitor and implement legal compliance measures as necessary

Ø  Manage and promote teamwork within the department while having personal interaction with all members of the department

Ø  This position is responsible for ensuring that all internal computer systems are electronically backed up and stored on retrievable electronic media.  Backup requirements include weekly (at a minimum) and daily backup of data files and programs for Company’s mainframe system.  One copy of backup will be stored in-house, one copy will be stored at a designated off-site location

Ø  Monitor and assign to staff department projects/jobs in a timely and prioritized manner for both internal and external customer project/job requests

Ø  Position may be on-call during weekend and off-business hours to ensure Company mainframe system is operating properly and has limited to no down time

Ø  Position will routinely troubleshoot technical hardware, software, program problems and bring solutions, ideas and resolution processes into effect

Ø  Position will make futuristic recommendations and projections to executive management on the technology growth of the company

Ø  Position will apply problem solving and brainstorming techniques to implement and make recommendations to management on potential efficiency saving or process streamlining capabilities or ideas

Ø  Position is responsible for ensuring that all mainframe processes and programs are running efficiently and correctly to ensure internal and external workflow and accessibility needs are being met

 

Computer Proficiency:  Intermediate proficiency on e-mail, spreadsheet and word processing software required; must be able to view, read, and send e-mail; create, edit and print spreadsheets; and create, edit, and print documents.  Proficient with open VMS operating system, alpha or similar mainframe structures, command line programming, and program languages such as Basic, C, C++, SQL, HTML.  Basic understanding of programs such as Microsoft Access, FLASHMX.
