IdleAire, Inc. - Maintenance Technician (Wheeling, WV)

Function Summary: To provide on site repairs to IdleAire equipment requiring troubleshooting of electrical, HVAC, telephone and wireless communication systems.

Essential Functions:Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance including troubleshooting and timely repair required to maintain 100% availability of service to IdleAire parking spaces. Conduct root cause analysis to identify and solve problems associated with equipment downtime. Perform preventative maintenance, upgrades to IdleAire equipment, and other projects as needed. Maintain company required records and reports; including daily ticket reports, equipment inventory logs and time clock punches. Operate scissor lift and perform all assigned job duties in compliance to IdleAire and OSHA safety regulations. Assist in providing a safe and clean work environment. Assist site personnel and customers with IdleAire equipment service issues. Maintain a good working relationship with all travel center personnel. Consistently exhibit conduct representative of IdleAire policies and procedures. Assist with other duties as assigned.

Secondary Functions: Ability to take direction and respond to requests in timely manner. Work in a cooperative, team oriented manner with all IdleAire Team Members. May be asked to assist at another site and/or with training of future IdleAire Maintenance Techs. Some travel required.

Working Conditions:The position requires working outdoors in all kinds of weather; working days with availability for occasional emergency call evenings, nights, and weekends. The position requires an individual to be able to lift 40 lbs.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will:Work with minimal supervision and with a culturally diverse group of people. Be self motivated, dependable, punctual and organized. Communicate with strong verbal and written skills. Demonstrate strong ethical and judgment skills. Possess strong computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Demonstrate the ability to read schematics. Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions and units of measure. Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Experience: 2 years experience in maintenance and trouble shooting electrical systems or equivalent specialized training strongly preferred. Knowledge in telecommunication, internet, wireless communications and HVAC preferred.

Note:  Internal candidates that do not meet the preferred experience criteria will be considered on a case by case basis if:

· The candidate is considered in good standing with at least 6 months of service.

· The candidate displays aptitude in the maintenance function through previous employment or other interests. 

· The candidate demonstrates appropriate technical skill levels via a skills assessment and/or technical interview.

Education: High School diploma or GED required. Prefer military, vocation, or trade school experience in a technical field with significant electrical troubleshooting.Click Here to Apply Online
