Salary Range: ($50,494.32 - $75,741.60)



The City of Virginia Beach is seeking a Learning & Development Specialist/Trainer for its Learning & Development Division which is a part of the Human Resources Department.  The candidate of choice will play a critical role in the Learning and Development Division by implementing city-wide training programs for Leaders and Members of the City of Virginia Beach; design, develop and maintain courseware and instructional aids; facilitate classroom learning related to leadership, management skills, professional skills, career progression, soft skills, and stewardship of City values, policy and procedures, and workforce development; consult with internal and external clients to assess learning needs, identify solutions, and additional resources; design, develop, and manage e-learning courses and/or webinars; manage projects from initial analysis through post-project evaluation; coach co-workers; collaborate and participate in human resource special projects.



 

 

The Learning and Development Division would prefer this candidate to have 5+ years experience in instructional design and facilitation of leadership development programs;  3+ years experience with distance learning; 3+ years in experience in a people management role; 3+ years in coaching and management; Achieve Global, Situational Leadership or any other certification of instruction; ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with both internal clients and co-workers; intermediate (or higher) skills with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; excellent written and oral communication skills; detail oriented; undergraduate degree and knowledge of the City of Virginia Beach municipal operations.
