Hourly Staffing Specialist

I. General Summary: Under the direction of the Professional Relations and Staffing Coordinator, this position is responsible for recruiting, screening and interviewing candidates for open/new hourly positions for three manufacturing facilities with the goal of hiring optimal employees within an efficient timeframe. This position interacts with management and employees as well as with agencies, recruiters, vendors, candidates, and industry professionals externally. II.  Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. For all assigned open positions, identify/recommend recruiting strategy. Communicate/finalize strategy with hiring manager(s). 2. Confer with hiring managers to determine job skill requirements. Analyze and evaluate physical, mental and training requirements of jobs and workers. Assist in preparing job descriptions. 3. Develop sources of qualified applicants. Review and evaluate applications for work history, education and training, salary desired, and other skills and abilities to determine qualification for employment; conduct interviews, administer tests, check references and background. 4. Inform applicants about job duties, responsibilities, pay, benefits, hours, working conditions, Company policies, and other related information. Conduct new associate orientation; may conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. 5. Maintain records and prepare reports of hires, separations, promotions, transfers, test results, and other data as requested. 6. Acknowledge receipt of all internal applicants. Follow up as appropriate. 7. Utilize outside recruiting resources in most efficient/cost effective manner. 8. Effectively screen, interview all outside candidates for fit with position specifications. III. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or other relevant field required.2. Two to three years experience in human resources environment preferred.3. Ability to perform arithmetical and algebraic calculations to conduct research and analysis.4. Ability to accurately interpret and apply policies, procedures, and laws related to employment activities.5. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.6. Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively in sensitive and confidential issues by telephone, in writing, and in face-to-face contacts with the public and with associates at all levels of the Company. The above list of duties is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by persons assigned to this classification.
