Global Sourcing Specialist

Boise Paper Holdings LLC, a leader in the premium and specialty papers industry, is seeking a Global Sourcing Specialist. Salary range: $52,836-$66,036/year. 

 

The successful candidate will have proven experience dealing with Asian suppliers and will be a seasoned sourcing professional with a successful track record.  This highly independent position requires making daily decisions that have direct impact on costs and customer satisfaction.  Knowledge of Asian cultures, business practices and negotiation, and proficiency in the Mandarin language is required. Additional responsibilities include:

·        Maintaining the global sourcing database with updates and changes.

·        Issuing and confirming import purchase orders on quantity, specifications, price, and terms and conditions.

·        Managing and building relationships with offshore suppliers.

·        Communicating with offshore suppliers on production scheduling, product specifications, technical requirements, delivery, quality, and other issues that may arise.

·        Working with import/domestic logistics and warehousing service providers to resolve issues or problems and ensure on time delivery.

·        Ensuring international customs' requirements are adhered to and met.

·        Tracking usage of import products and project demand forecasting

·        Assisting International Transportation to obtain shipping documents and coordinating payment processes.

·        Working closely with all parties in the global sourcing supply chain to ensure 100% on time delivery of import shipments.

·        Providing input and ideas on ways to continuously improve efficiency and reduce cost in global sourcing logistics and inventory management.

 

Education/Experience

·        Demonstrate critical thinking skills through the use of statistics and analysis. 

·        Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills at the expert level (Excel, Access or other data management software).  The candidate will be proficient in linking spreadsheets, using pivot and look-up tables, and managing large volumes of products.

·        Demonstrate 5-7 years experience in sourcing or related operations and have an in-depth knowledge of global sourcing supply chain management. 

·        Work well under pressure to identify multiple priorities and resolve issues in a timely manner.

·        Hold a Bachelor’s degree in business, purchasing, supply chain or related field. 

·        The successful candidate will assist in creating the systems and processes for the newly developed Global Sourcing department.
