Under general supervision and the software development guidelines and technology standards defined by Apollo Corporate IT, this position develops, codes, test and debugs new software or enhancements to existing software to increase the effectiveness of the product for business use.

 

Requirements: A thorough knowledge and understanding of software development as typically obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field. Must have sufficient educational background and/or experience to qualify incumbent to work on most phases of software development.  Two-four years of software development or experience in a related field is preferred. A general understanding and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the software-development field is required. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers and department staff, as described above. Must possess the ability to communicate well with others, to perform work in a team environment, direct and act as a resource for less experienced software developers and relay necessary information as appropriate. Designs, develops, creates, tests, modifies and maintains software for internet applications. Develops scalable templates and widgets using AJAX, XML, JavaScript, CSS, DHTML, and java based technologies. Analyzes/Implements proprietary and 3rd party enterprise applications/APIs to meet and exceed business needs. Implements flexible, scalable designs using best practices and with little oversight required. Creates web-based solutions with focus on clean, effective user interface that use web 2.0 fundamentals. Interfaces with internal and external developer teams and business users.
