•Location:    New Orleans, LA 70112•Job Status:    Full Time, Employee•Job Category:    Accounting/Finance/Insurance•Career Level::    Experienced (Non-Manager)Fixed Income Securities Analyst I Job Description:Analyst position responsible for implementing the credit review process within the fixed income strategy group. The analyst works closely with the senior analyst and portfolio managers, and participates in fixed income strategy formulation. This position is responsible for monitoring fixed income credit risk on a platform-wide basis, which also entails maintenance and design of data management systems. This position provides a career path to a Portfolio Manager position. Responsibilities: Conducts ongoing, timely credit reviews in accordance with internal policies and applicable laws and regulations for managed portfolios. Monitor credit risk across the fixed income platform through internal research and external research sources; assist the senior fixed income analyst and portfolio managers in security selection. Assist the senior fixed income strategist and/or portfolio managers in maintaining appropriate risk analysis tools by ensuring critical system functionality in coordination with the internal Advent Support Team and/ or external service providers. Troubleshoots problems as needed. Participate in the formulation of investment strategy as a member of the fixed income strategy team. Provide informed commentary regarding such areas as credit issues, Fed policy, economic trends. Other duties as assigned by manager.Job Experience:Basic Qualifications: 4 year college degree. Preferred Qualifications: BBA, MBA and CFA in process. 2+ years investment experience in a financial services or RIA environment is highly desirable. Basic understanding of the relationship between financial markets and macroeconomic trends. Strong analytical and data management skills, including spreadsheet familiarity. Working knowledge of the function and mechanics of the various U.S. securities markets. Familiarity with basic accounting principles and their implementation in corporate annual reports and other financial statements. Solid grasp of key metrics of valuation and risk in fixed income and equity securities. Ability to quickly discern key trends in liquidity and leverage in financial statements. Must be comfortable working in team environment with overlapping responsibilities. Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail. Interactive skills including excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good organizational/planning/time management skills.
