As one of the world's leading geophysical companies, you will be provided a friendly and supportive workplace that is in a stimulating and multi-cultural environment, with the potential to experience international opportunities during your career.Job Summary: Hands-on role in a small growing team to co-ordinate & perform Fiber optic permanent monitoring (FOPM) field deployment and service projects. The responsibility shall be end to end, which includes some work onsite at platforms besides preparatory work at the base/plant.This position has recently been created to support the new and growing FOPM business, targeting reservoir optimization using breakthrough fiber-optic technology. The initial projects are pilots which shall be followed by much larger projects once the pilots are proven.This position is an excellent development role for a high potential operations or technical candidate who can develop a combination of operational, technical and leadership skills. This position is a path to roles like that of a Fiber Optics Field Operations & Project Manager, regional FOPM operations manager for ongoing PM projects, as well as in sales/marketing of FOPM, for the right candidate.Duties Include: Co-ordinate, lead and perform the 1st few FOPM field installation and service projects onsite. Hands-on field operations role to co-ordinate all activities leading to the installation of fiber-optic permanent monitoring installation jobs. This includes technical as well as logistics issues. This shall be followed by periodic acquisition of data from permanent systems. The initial jobs shall be done with PGS R&D and installation partners from Oil companies. Take ownership of the responsibility to successfully complete and deliver the job. Validate & improve processes and performance of projects. Support the development & training of additional field operators/engineers. Participate in efforts to win new projects. Develop installation know-how & capability to perform turnkey projects as the team expands it capabilities and scope of activities. Communicate status & feedback to management team for technical and business decision making. In between projects must be flexible to do other roles as assigned. The right candidate may take on a wider leadership role within the team.Qualifications Required: Degree in Engineering or science preferred, or equivalent competence. Strong mechanical and practical skills, as well as ability to manage projects. Good customer facing and communication and organizational skills. Competency in deploying or operating field electronics related to seismic is preferred. Knowledge of fiber-optics a plus. A willingness to achieve this competence soon after employment maybe acceptable if capability is demonstrated. Must have the ability to work legally in the United States for anyone other than your current employer.Experience, Skills & Knowledge Required: 5-10 years prior oil field experience. Preferably in PGS in OBC, or a former O&G field installation project mgr or FSM/equivalent with a service company. Can-do attitude interested in working for a start-up within a large company. Must be a high-energy, self-motivated, hands-on, team-player with the ability to think at a higher level to grow with the team. High integrity and strong believer in highest HSEQ performance. Fluent in oral and written English.Physical Requirements of the Position: Able to go on platforms and supervise jobs as well as perform tasks as needed. Ability and willingness to perform significant business travel worldwide.This Position Supervises: Project members depending upon project size.Working Relationships: Internal Relationships Fiber-optics R&D, Data Processing & Technology, Marine, Onshore, Global Procurement, Training.
