Event Coordinator
The Community Outreach & Education Event Coordinator provides a broad range of event planning and operational support to the CO&E Department. This position acts as the central contact person and administrative support for all RCAC events excluding RCAC and ECAC meetings. This position is responsible for the planning, coordination and follow up on all major events sponsored by the Community Outreach Department. The Coordinator develops event workplans, and arrangements for facilities, food, transportation, audio visual equipment, interpretation and other services needed for events; prepares all purchase orders, provides preliminary review of contracts and other documents and serves as liaison between event attendees, staff and vendors. The Coordinator must apply robust tracking and follow-up systems, to ensure that event details are managed. The Coordinator is responsible for resolving problems and issues that arise regarding events, etc. This individual must demonstrate excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Certificate in Event Planning is preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
-- 3 or more years coordinating a variety of events that have taken place in public venues such as hotels, conference centers and community rooms.
-- Minimum 3 years experience providing administrative support.
-- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-- Working knowledge of Microsoft office tools.
-- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
FOREIGN LANGUAGES: Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
