Entry Level Service Manager

Overview:
This position is responsible for assisting in overseeing the pickup and delivery activates of a terminal/facility involved in the inbound and/or out bound delivery of packages. Responsible in helping to maintain quality and safety, and hiring and training of Contractors.

Position Information:
Responsible in helping to maintain quality and safety, and hiring and training of Contractors. Continues to train and answer questions for Contractors. Communicates with Package Handlers about the package loading requests made by Contractors. Ensures that all packages are taken out of the facility each day and delivered and picked up from customers. Arranges delivery options for packages for customers, provides Contractors with maps and directions. Conducts contractor Safety Meetings. Assists with ordering tires and uniforms for Contractors under the Contractor assistance program. Takes customer service calls as needed. Plays an active role in Package Handler presort meetings. Assists the P&D Manager in conducting van maintenance checks, and tracks all van maintenance, ensuring all standards are adhered to under Department of Transportation (DOT) Requirements. Assists in tracking data entry errors and follows up with Service Managers to eliminate errors of check in. Conducts Customer Service Rides, Unit History, DOT, training rides and all other required files. Assists in the development and execution of plans to reduce Contractor turnover. Participates in, and holds Contractor roundtables in accordance with Regional Director predetermined schedule. Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:
High School degree or its equivalent. Generally has 0 - 2 years experience preferably in a supervisory/management capacity. Knows fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization.
