Engineer/Research Engineer (Fluids Engineering)

SUMMARY: Become a member of an exceptional project team in a fast-paced, ever-evolving work environment and make a significant contribution to space fluids engineering as well as to the oil and gas industry. Your technical expertise will be utilized in the areas of fluid dynamics and multiphase flow research and testing. Specific challenges include developing space-flight hardware, investigating microgravity fluid dynamics, and evaluating multiphase flow equipment and its performance. Provide detailed hardware design including test fixtures; complete data analysis; conduct laboratory experiments; and determine project needs and requirements to order materials and supplies. Oversee and manage a project's technical activities, cost, and scheduling; deal directly with customers; and supervise subordinate staff. Develop and deliver presentations to customers and lead the promotion of new projects.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Requires a BS (MS preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with course work in fluids, CFD and mechanical design, 3.5 GPA, and 1 year mechanical engineering experience (co-op and intern experience may be substituted). Must have an engineering background; excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills; familiarity with instrumentation used for fluids experiments, electronics, data acquisition systems, and CFD and/or multiphase flow codes; ability to manage projects and promote laboratory capabilities.
