Engineer (LabVIEW)
SUMMARY: Develop and maintain LabVIEW code performing data acquisition, automation, and calculation of results based on specifications from regulatory agencies, management and laboratory staff; interface laboratory tools and software output to collect and summarize laboratory data in desired form and format; develop and maintain computer programs used for data acquisition and lab equipment automation; troubleshoot hardware and software; determine specifications and develop hardware for DAQ systems; create documentation of software and maintain revisions; conduct training.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Requires a BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science field with 2-5 years experience developing advanced data acquisition and automation applications in National Instrument LabVIEW software and PC networking, analog, counter and digital 1/10. Significant experience developing advanced applications using National Instrument's LabVIEW software is required; experience with embedded or remote data acquisition systems is desired; experience with Visual Basic and other languages is a plus; must be able to work independently in development of creative and scalable solutions; experience with automotive hardware or engines is also a plus; must have advanced skills with Excel; must have high degree of attention to detail, be analytical and self motivated; must be able to function both independently and as a member of a team; must have good communication skills for interaction with both professional and laboratory staff. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
