Electronics Tech II

Installs, modifies, and repairs work tickets to include quality standards, cleanliness, and craftsmanship Installs, repairs and services air conditioners and refrigeration equipment Mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications Fabricates, assembles and installs ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connects control panels to power source Injects refrigerant into compressor to test systems and adds freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressure Observes pressure and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to insure proper operation Other duties as assigned Position Requirements Must be familiar with direct digital controls for building heating ventilation and air conditioning Must have an understanding of residential and commercial equipment to include chillers up to 500 ton Able to troubleshoot steam controls and electrical controls for motors such as variable frequency drives Able to learn new programs and help troubleshoot problems related to building automation Must possess specific experience in pressure temperature charts, pressure and vacuum gauges and controls, breakers, contactors, and analyzers Experience installing, maintaining, and servicing air conditioner and refrigeration equipment in an industrial environment is required Familiarity with pneumatic controls CFC Universal Certification is required Must be 18 yrs of age; high school/GED grad Must pass criminal background and drug/alcohol screeningApplicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
