These positions require a BSEE degree. A licensed professional engineer status is preferred, but EIT?s will be considered. Design aspects will include electrical for medium and low voltage systems, electrical system analysis including short circuit studies, coordination studies and arc flash studies, lighting calculations and development of motor and instrument loop drawings. It will also require interpretation and application of national electrical code articles, building codes and life safety codes to system design and specifications. Strong communication skills and good independent judgment are needed. The position involves coordinating many design aspects with process engineers, other engineering disciplines, other engineering firms, and clients. An Electrical Power Systems Engineering Department Head/Electrical Engineer at Fagen Engineering is commonly responsible for all electrical design requirements on a single project start to finish.
