Title: Director Sourcing Capital ExpenditureReq: 01069Location: Gaithersburg MDMajor Duties and Responsibilities (including supervising others):• Work collaboratively and proactively with internal stakeholders to identify process sourcing and contract improvement opportunities within the Capital Expenditure / Engineering category – be the general “owner” of the category• Research develop recommend and implement strategic sourcing business cases and solutions• Participate and/or lead in supplier selection negotiations contract implementation and compliance tracking/reporting• Establish and maintain relationships with internal business group leaders and end-user groups to provide periodic needs assessments and serve as a conceptual leader and technical resource in support of business sourcing requirements• Analyze marketplace research data and make recommendations related to suppliers industry and market analysis (evaluate and recommend the feasibility of suppliers – this includes financial as well as the business analysis of all suppliers)• Assist in strategic supplier relationship management (SRM) • Support contract implementation by business units and procurement department• Ensure contract compliance and key performance indicators are established reported monitored and enforced• Assure compliance with SOX Governmental and other general contract requirements.• Produce monthly key project update report including status update compliance & performance reporting• Serve as Co-Chairman (along with Sr. VP Global Engineering) of CAPEX Strategic Sourcing Council (CAPEX SSC)Experience: • Minimum 10 years experience and demonstrated proficiency in procurement / strategic sourcing or equivalent experience in an Engineering Construction Construction Management Design or other capital expenditure categories• Minimum 2 years involvement in development of MSA’s and lay supplier relationships in this category. Prefer to have established relationships with his/her commercial counterparts within top 12 lay suppliers. Must be knowledgeable of current state of key supplier marketplace.• Knowledgeable regarding processes policies and procedures governing supply chain planning sourcing releasing receiving and settling• Project management and change management experience is important• Experience with ERP applications and SAP procurement related transactions• Working knowledge of an e-procurement system (Frictionless Supplier Relationship Management or other SRM systems)Special Skills/Abilities: • Excellent communications skills including the ability to persuasively present information both in writing and verbally• Strong team builder and leader • Strong analytical skills and quantitative orientation including proficiency in MS Office applications – SAP experience is preferred• Ability to contribute creatively in a collaborative settingJob Complexity: • In depth knowledge of strategic sourcing/commodity/spend category management methodologies• Ability to work independently and in a team environment while balancing multiple priorities concurrentlySupervision: (supervision required level of independence)• The role reports to the Sr. Director Strategic Sourcing & Procurement• The role will be responsible for managing the sourcing managers within the Capital Expenditure categoryEducations: Education: • Minimum 4 year Bachelor’s Degree Required (Engineering field preferred)• MBA preferredCLICK HERE TO APPLY MedImmune, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
