Job SummaryA Director, Medical Pharmacovigilance (MedPv) physician is responsible for the safety of marketed products and contributes to the benefit/risk assessment of investigational products. This role will support vaccines.The principle responsibilities of this position are to establish plans for identifying, addressing, and monitoring safety signals and communicating safety information.Job ResponsibilitiesSafety SurveillanceIndependently evaluates safety data, identifies and independently analyzes safety signals, and presents the medical evaluation of safety signals to the appropriate forumsRecommends action to resolve safety issuesInitiates SRT meetings and with minimal guidance, conducts these meetingsCollaboration with ColleaguesProvides medical expertise to GPvO and other MedPv therapeutic teams on complex issuesMay be Company representative on medical safety issues to external groups including regulatory authorities and business partnersReports Prepares draft written responses to ad hoc queries, draft PSURs, draft JSLDs, draft topic reviews with medical insightContributes MedPv perspective and subject matter expertise to all relevant areas of risk management plans, expert reviews, and other documents as requiredManagerial Responsibilities/OtherMay manage MedPv ScientistsParticipate in intradepartmental and interdepartmental initiativesMay contribute to intradepartmental policies and proceduresBasic QualificationsM.D. or D.O. (or equivalent) required; completed residency program required; 2+ years of relevant pharmaceutical experience and/or safety required. Experience working with vaccines is a plus. This position will also include a technology component. A desire to work with technology to support the development of business processess is preferred.Relocation is available for this position.
