Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Director, Marketing (Electrophysiology) - 25835 Job Description:General Summary:This position reports directly to the Vice President, Marketing or his/ her designee. Has responsibility for planning, organizing, executing and coordinating marketing assignments related to BSC-EP’s therapeutic (ablation) product lines. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, and development of novel concepts and approaches. Maintains liaison with individuals and units within or outside the organization, with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to own field. Develops and accomplishes annual and quarterly section goals and objectives. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area supported. Ensure employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented. Responsible for the marketing of all new and improved products including marketing strategies, promotional materials and programs, and administration. Directs staff in the management and execution of marketing projects. Reviews progress of projects. Plans and organizes product projects to include all technical aspects of marketing. Evaluates and assesses the developmental/skill needs of staff on a continuous basis to ensure appropriate competencies exist to meet project assignments. Oversees and advises all aspects of marketing product management activities including pricing, positioning, promotion, and training. Develops and implements marketing programs and plans. Develops forecasting marketing strategies, programs, and materials. Manages marketing staff providing guidance and direction. Interacts with Director level associates from other departments on daily operation/direction of the business. May conduct global sales and marketing training programs. Interfaces with clients and customers regarding new and improved products. Interacts with North American regional sales managers and international distributors.Performs responsibilities required by the Quality System and other duties as assigned or requested.Position Qualifications:BA/BS Degree in Business/Marketing or Engineering, MBA preferred. Product marketing experience and management experience strong plusses. Proven leadership experience and experience supporting the launch of a new product preferred. Clinical/medical device experience desired or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.Working Conditions: The majority of the work will be spent on-site (in San Jose) as well as off-site to customer sites/hospitals and conventions. Expect to travel up to 25% of the time, on average. Electrophysiology procedures routinely use X-ray equipment; however all hospital personnel are required to wear protective lead garments during the procedure.
