To sustain and enhance our leadership position in the pharmaceutical industry, we continue to recruit, develop and motivate individuals whose skills, values, and work ethic will grow and improve our business.Job SummaryProvides leadership for pharmacometrics plan development and implementation for approximately 50% of projects within EDCP.Provides guidance/recommendations for appropriate use of pharmacometric principles and tools to integrate knowledge for Improved decision-making for learn-phase projects, and The quality of regulatory submissions for confirm-phase projectsAs a lead pharmacometric scientist, interfaces with assigned EDCP therapeutic area teams, providing expertise/technical support in all aspects of pharmacometric applications.Job ResponsibilitiesProvides guidance/recommendations for appropriate use of pharmacometric principles and methodologies for knowledge integration, including procedures for population modeling analysis plan preparation, mathematical/statistical model development and evaluation, and computer program development.Supervises and/or participates directly in development of the pharmacometrics sections of a clinical development plan, including identifying project-specific pharmacometric objectives of a given compound at various stages of the clinical development critical to learn phase decision-making, and incorporating these objectives into the clinical development plan.Interfaces with assigned EDCP therapeutic area teams, providing expertise/technical support in all aspects of pharmacometric applications and monitoring resources, to ensure successful and timely completion of the planned pharmacometric activities.Oversees and supports the scientific content of internal and external communications/presentations containing pharmacometric analysis results, including regulatory responses in support of various global submissions for conduct of clinical trials or registration of products.Follows the literature closely and interacts with external pharmacometrics experts periodically for evolution of modeling and simulation technology/methodology to ensure that state-of-the-art pharmacometric tools (computer hardware/software) are available within EDCP Provides mentorship to appropriate staff, contributing to their career development. Works on pharmacometric initiatives and process improvement projects within and across departments. May represent the interests of EDCP at cross-functional meetings such as SOP reviews.Basic QualificationsPhD in pharmcometrics or pharmacokinetics, including extensive mathematical/statistical and computer programming experience Training in Good Clinical Practice, SOP’s, and relevant software applications are required. Advanced training in mathematics, statistics and computer programming are also required.A minimum of 6 years, and preferably more, of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Experience in applications of NONMEM, S-plus, SAS and other appropriate statistical and graphical software. Record of successful publications in the area of pharmacometrics.Relocation is not available for this position.
